Built from the ground up, National Halal is fast
becoming one of the UK’s most prominent organisations
and trusted brands within the Halal food arena. They
not only understand the market dynamics of the retail
sector in the UK, but they have also developed and
mastered state-of-the-art supply chain systems for Halal
meat and poultry.
National Halal’s 41+ years of wholesale experience and
16+ years of retail experience is incomparable within the Halal
food industry in UK. Their strong market presence gives
them the leverage to further strengthen their
position and acquire an increasing market share for the future.

LATE 1950’s

1st Halal Butchers Store in Europe (Birmingham, UK)

1960’s

1st store in Halal meat market
(Birmingham, UK Wholesale Market)

1970’s

1st Muslim Owned Lamb Abattoir (Birmingham, UK)

1971

Hafiz Muhammad Yaqoob was the first British Muslim registered to carry out official Halal slaughter in Southern Ireland

1980’s

1st Muslim Owned Beef Abattoir (Stoke on Trent, UK)

1995

1st High Street Retail Outlet Opens (Birmingham, UK)

2005

First “National Halal Centre” concession opens in Tesco (Slough, UK)

2007

First “National Halal Centre” concession opens in ASDA (Birmingham, UK)

market leader in the supply of Halal meat and poultry
in the European market

In order to leverage the opportunities presented by the growing market
and the increase in spend per customer, the following strategies have

    – Retail (Building on the strength of the existing distribution agreements
    with leading global retailers in the UK for supplying fresh, frozen,
    chilled and cooked Halal meat and poultry products)

  • Build on the foundations for future growth, by investing in facilities
    Whilst
    ensuring optimal efficiency in logistics and infrastructure
  • Strengthen existing & develop new business relationships with
    suppliers, for sourcing and introducing a range of new products to
    fulfill and satisfy the customers of today and tomorrow
  • Leverage from strengths in the UK market to facilitate rapid
    expansion in the EU
  • Capitalise on the brand’s heritage & continue to demonstrate its
    strong background based on Shariah principles, and to build on
    the already established confidence of the Muslim community in
    the UK & Europe
